Thank you, Thank you, Thank you to all the businesses that helped make the 7th grade business fair a success last year. Because of you I was able to apply for the National Signature Project Award that is given out by National Rural Education Association and Rural Schools Collaborative to a teacher who creates "an innovative classroom project that exemplifies the very best in Place-Based Education" in a rural classroom within the United States. The best news of all is I WON! I got a $2,500 award to be used towards this project! This will fund this project for years and I couldn't do it without you. This money will be used to fund student businesses through a loan as well as purchase some items that students can use to display product each year. Check out the complete article to learn more about the now NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED project that I and my learners created! https://ruralschoolscollaborative.org/stories/proudly-announcing-our-2024-25-national-signature-project-award-recipients
Along with this I will be going on a trip in October to Savannah, GA to attend The 2024 National Forum to Advance Rural Education. This forum consists of 2 days of in person learning with over 100 learning sessions to choose from. It is my hope to walk away with the latest insights, best practices, research, and more to help lead and support my district and school.
